Skid Pallets, often referred to simply as “skids,” are a basic form of pallet without a bottom deck. This open-bottom design makes them lighter and easier to handle while reducing material costs. Skid Pallets are commonly used for short-term or one-way shipping applications where weight reduction and cost-effectiveness are key considerations. Their simple structure allows for quick loading and unloading, making them suitable for dynamic operations such as retail distribution or fast-moving consumer goods. While they may not offer the same stacking strength as double-deck pallets, skid pallets are valued for their versatility, easy manufacturing, and recyclability.
